Air Purifiers
FAQ - Frequently Asked Questions and Concerns

Do air purifiers remove odours?

Purifiers that have an activated carbon filter are very effective at removing odours. They can eliminate odours from smoke, pets, food, rubbish and even nappies. Other types of filters, such as HEPA filters, are not as effective at removing odours as they are in removing particulate matter.

What is an activated carbon filter?

An activated carbon filter is made of a thick layer of activated carbon that absorbs gases and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from the air. It helps reduce various types of odours.

What is a HEPA filter?

High efficiency particulate filters (HEPA) remove 99.97% of particles that are 0.3 microns and larger from the air. This makes air purifiers with a HEPA filter ideal for removing small animal hair particles, mite residues and pollen from the air.

Will an air purifier leave me asthma-free or allergy-free?

No. Air purifiers prevent asthma symptoms and allergies by filtering out airborne allergens such as pollen, dust and animal fur. However, it does not cure asthma and allergies. Purifiers are rather a preventive measure rather than a cure.

Where to place an air purifier?

Place the air purifier in a room where you spend a lot of time, such as your bedroom. Make sure that there are no obstructions in the air flow to the air purifier. Nothing should be placed in front of the purifier that would prevent air from passing through.

What is PM2.5?

PM2.5 is an abbreviation for particulate matter with a diameter of 2.5 micrometers. These can be solid particles or droplets of liquid in the air.

What does CADR mean?

This abbreviation is an important measurement for air purifiers. CADR stands for Clean Air Delivery Rate. This measurement was developed by the Association of Home Appliance Manufacturers.

It indicates the volume of filtered air supplied by the air purifier. The higher the CADR number, the faster the unit filters the air and cleans the room.

What is the lifespan of the filter?

The service life of the filter is 3600 hours. As soon as the filter icon starts flashing, it needs to be replaced.

How to extend the life of the filter?

Particles deposited inside the HEPA filter can no longer be gently removed. The life of the filter can be slightly extended by vacuuming its surface with a vacuum cleaner.

Is the ionizer feature with IonTrue technology® important?

In addition to freshening the air, ionization causes dust particles to clump into larger clumps, which then fall to the ground due to their higher weight and can be vacuumed up easily. Ionization is thus a supportive means of air purification.

How long should the air purifier be on?

For best results, run the air purifier continuously. Most air purifiers have several cleaning speeds. Lower speeds consume less energy and are less noisy. Some purifiers also have a night mode function. This mode is designed so that the air purifier disturbs you as little as possible when you sleep.

All this saves energy and reduces costs while maintaining a clean environment.
